Service
Technical Service is radio dispatched. Our dispatcher
is equipped with computerized instantaneous information
on repair
histories for every vending machine. This
information is conveyed to the technician upon dispatching
him. This helps to speed
repairs and catch ongoing
problems.
Technicians respond to emergency
service requests within three hours of notification.
They carry a full inventory of parts to make
complete
repairs upon the initial visit and receive ongoing
training to keep their skills sharp so they can provide
quick but effective
repairs. Distribution Representatives
have also received training in technical service.
They are qualified to make minor repairs to
minimize
the need for calling upon a technician and to provide
faster service to you.
We do ask that you assign a specific person the
responsibility of notifying our Service Department
(586- 756-8100, Ext. 3022) in the event technical
service is needed.
Restocking Of Products
Routine restocking of products is scheduled based
upon individual machine capacities and your particular
daily usage. This is computer controlled so as
to highlight any significant change in usage that
might dictate change in scheduling. All restocking
of products is meticulously recorded.
Accordingly,
the activity of any machine can be easily reviewed
at any time should you desire it. Drivers are equipped
with handheld computers for instantaneous and accurate
data collection. These product movement records
are detailed. We can tell you the sales of individual
items within a machine as well as the total sales
of the machine. For example: as well as advising
how many sandwiches are sold per day we can advise
how many of each individual type of sandwich were
sold.
Resident Attendant Service
Based upon our knowledge of your food service needs,
we may propose that the vending equipment be maintained
by a Resident
Attendant rather than Distribution
Driver. The attendant would be available a minimum
of four hours per day to insure a smooth
operation
during peak periods, and to restock machines and
make mechanical repair, if necessary. A Distribution
Driver is typically
only on site for as long as
is required to restock machines. With a Resident
Attendant a secure storage area is required. This
area
should be in the approximate vicinity of a
primary vending area.

Service
Emergency service is available 365 days a year, 24
hours a day
People
All employees have successfully completed training
programs in proper food handling, sanitation, vending
technology and customer
relations. Company policy
requires attendance at in-service training programs
held every other month. Receiving unsolicited letters
of accommodation regarding personnel is commonplace.
Our Distribution Service Department averages 10
years experience per person.
Change & Refunds
Refunds will be handled by our Distribution Representative
whenever he/she is on the premises.
We request that an appointed representative be assigned
the responsibility of making refunds at such times
as our Distribution Representative is not present.
We will provide you with a change fund for this purpose.
This fund can also be used to make change for your
employees. Our Distribution Representative will check
with the person to whom you have assigned this responsibility
on a regularly scheduled basis to determine when
the fund needs to be replenished.
Security
For your security, all service personnel are uniformed
for easy identification. Also, all vehicles are
clearly identified with the Variety
FoodServices
logo.
Customer Comment Cards
Variety FoodServices will mount a Plexiglas holder
in each vending area to hold our Customer Comment
Cards. These Cards are
postage paid mailers designed
to allow our customers to easily make suggestions,
offer feedback or suggest ideas regarding any
facet
of our service.
Free Vends
Variety can equip any
of the vending machines at your location with a free
vend key switch. With
this option, we issue
an authorized person at your
location the key for the switch. This allows
you to turn any of your machines on free at any
time. Many customers use this feature for
employee celebrations, holiday parties, company
events etc. Most customers
use this for cup
soda or cup coffee vending machines however any
vending machine can be so equipped.
Variety
will automatically bill your Company at a reduced
rate than the machine’s selling price
at the end of each 4 week accounting period for items
free vended. We do ask that you inform us if
you use this feature for any significant volume so
that we may make a special trip to replenish your
machine’s sooner than their normal service
intervals.
