Variety Celebrates National Vending Day

Today is the first time we will celebrate the Convenience Services industry at a national level. National Vending Day exists to recognize the people who proudly make, sell, enjoy and love vending machines and the products they bring.

The convenience services industry has a total annual economic impact of nearly $25 billion. This includes vending, micro markets, office coffee and pantry services. The industry also provides 140,000 jobs with $7.21 billion in wages.

Variety FoodServices began in 1928, on the cusp of the Great Depression, when Founder Norman Nowak placed peanut vending machines in the street cars of Detroit. At the end of WWII, studies proved that a light snack in the late afternoon actually increased productivity. From that point forward the business changed tremendously.

Since those rather humble beginnings, we have grown to become Michigan's largest independent vending and cafeteria service provider and are now ranked in the top 5% of all vending and food service companies.

Variety FoodServices is proud to say that we have been servicing our community with convenience services for over 90 years. It truly is our roots. We want to take this day to recognize and say thank you to all of our customers & partners who have supported us throughout our journey.
